Last Friday I finished a month of Olympic lifting. My joints are now feeling the stress of moving heavy weights quickly nearly everyday. I do, however, feel as if my joints have become more flexible, or, at least, can move through a great range of motion. I improved my Clean and Jerk by roughly 25lb with a 210lb CJ, and my Snatch improved by 40lb with a 182lb Snatch. I also gained roughly 15lb, but that is slowly falling off. I drank half a gallon of whole milk a day with a scoop of protein powder for every 16oz. The last two and half weeks I added weight gainer, and the last week doubled up on the weight gainer. At my peak, I was drinking around 2500 calories a day. Monday I returned back to eating paleo, and I am feeling the carb withdrawals. All in all it was a great experience that has given me strengths in areas that needed improvement, and I am now very happy to return to CF WODs.
